مراجعة ‘debanking’ investigated 100,000 complaints و 50,000 records داخلية من البنوك، كاشفة أن customers were ‘debanked’ based on political, social, or religious beliefs. بين 2020 و 2025، وجدت JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Citibank, Wells Fargo, U.S. Bank, Capital One, PNC, TD Bank و BMO Bank discrimination against American consumers. التقرير 47 صفحة ‘Guaranteeing Fair Banking for All Americans’ found that banks targeted Christian organizations over abortion, LGBTQ issues, and traditional family values, and restricted financing for industries like firearms, oil and gas, coal, detention facilities, tobacco, and e-cigarettes. Examples include JPMorgan Chase’s We Pay closing accounts for merchants selling MAGA merchandise, ‘Biden-Illegitimate-Tshirt,’ and ‘Trump-Won’ flags, with internal systems flagging terms like ‘MAGA’ and ‘America First’ added after the January 6 Capitol riot. Banks also used Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) hate group designations to justify debanking, despite the SPLC being indicted in April on federal fraud and money-laundering charges and labeled a ‘partisan smear machine’ by FBI Director Kash Patel.
Religious organizations were debanked for being labeled ‘extremist hate groups’ by the SPLC, including one raising funds to challenge anti-discrimination laws. PNC refused credit to a media company due to an owner’s foundation funding Christian conservative groups.
