The photos, taken at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, have intensified speculation about the cultural institution's fate after its sudden closure this week over safety concerns regarding fallen ceiling plaster.

The White House and Roma Daravi, the Trump-allied Kennedy Center spokesperson, have declined comment. Bill Pulte, the nation's top housing official and Trump loyalist, is also visible in the images examining the demolition plan. The photos have been entered as evidence in a lawsuit filed by Representative Joyce Beatty, Democrat of Ohio, who sued the Kennedy Center as a board member over its temporary closure.

A federal judge denied Beatty's emergency hearing request Thursday but reminded the administration of its prior commitment to provide 30 days' notice before any demolition. Beatty's lawyers cited Trump's Wednesday comments in North Carolina that he would withhold renovation funding — effectively condemning the building — unless his name was added to its facade, contradicting his February pledge: "I'm not ripping it down."
