British tennis player Jack Draper will miss the French Open and the remainder of the clay court season due to a persistent knee injury. The 24-year-old, currently ranked 28th, retired from his only clay match in Barcelona earlier this month because of a tendon issue in his right knee. Draper had pulled out of the Madrid and Rome tournaments, expressing optimism he'd be fit for Roland Garros.

Draper will plummet in the rankings to around 50th after this week's Madrid Open, failing to defend 650 ranking points from his runner-up finish there last year. He'll also lose points from reaching the Italian Open quarter-finals and French Open fourth round. The British star hopes to return for the grass court season in June, potentially starting in Stuttgart where he won two years ago.

Draper had a brilliant start to 2025, winning his first Masters 1000 title in Indian Wells and reaching fourth in the world rankings. However, his career has been riddled with injuries to shoulder, hip, arm, and now knee. The world's top 100 ranking appears increasingly out of reach as he focuses solely on recovery and avoiding further setbacks.
