Microsoft has denied rumors of a major Xbox Game Pass overhaul in 2027, including claims of ad-supported and ad-free tiers, removal of day-one releases, and a separate cloud streaming add-on. The rumor originated from ResetEra moderator Slayven and was addressed directly to Forbes journalist Paul Tassi by an Xbox spokesperson, who stated the company regularly tests offerings but has no changes to announce or finalized plans. Windows Central investigated separately, confirming the ResetEra list does not match any current internal plans and calling it speculation, though acknowledged Xbox is exploring Game Pass changes behind the scenes.

The spokesperson’s wording, particularly "previously announced games," leaves open the possibility that future titles could lose day-one access even if current commitments remain intact. Microsoft appears to be rejecting this specific leak while not ruling out future adjustments to the service.
