NBA Season Milestones & Front Office Shifts
The offensive output for several young players reached franchise milestones this week, even as one recognized star became ineligible for postseason accolades. Charlotte rookie Kon Knueppel established the Hornets' single-season record for three-pointers made, following closely behind Phoenix guard Collin Gillespie, who set the Suns' club mark for triples on Thursday night. In Minnesota, however, Anthony Edwards was ruled out against the Pistons due to a lingering knee issue, meaning he cannot reach the 65-game threshold required for NBA awards consideration. Elsewhere, new Blazers owner Tom Dundon is actively pushing the franchise away from a developmental focus, stating the team's mindset must shift toward achieving loftier goals because "It's more fun to win" than merely cultivating young talent.
