Team News & Lineups
The Pittsburgh Pirates will start right-hander Jared Jones on Friday night against Minnesota, marking his first MLB appearance since 2024. Meanwhile, rookie shortstop Konnor Griffin missed Thursday's lineup due to soreness in his right forearm as Pittsburgh fell 7-2 to Chicago. Detroit also made a roster move, placing closer Kenley Jansen on the 15-day injured list with pelvic inflammation, further depleting a bullpen already dealing with multiple injuries this season.
