NHL Injury & Roster Moves
The Montreal Canadiens suffered a setback when forward Kirby Dach sustained an upper-body injury following a high hit from Anaheim Ducks winger Jeffrey Viel during Sunday night's matchup, forcing him from the game early. Elsewhere, the Washington Capitals bolstered their system by securing prospect Cole Hutson to a three-year entry-level contract after his sophomore campaign at Boston University concluded in the Hockey East tournament over the weekend.
Playoff Picture Analysis
Amid ongoing regular-season action, projections suggest the Anaheim Ducks still possess a mathematical pathway to capturing the Pacific Division title, although their chances remain slim according to current models. These projections arrive as the league finalized its lottery standings following a busy Saturday slate of games across the schedule.
