MLB Labor & Roster Moves
Top-level officials from Major League Baseball and the players' union met Tuesday to formally commence collective bargaining negotiations, with just over six months remaining before the current labor agreement expires. On the field, the New York Yankees recalled former top prospect Anthony Volpe to the majors, while simultaneously placing utility player Isiah Kiner-Falefa on the injured list following a minor setback. Adding veteran depth back into the National League Central picture, the Milwaukee Brewers activated Christian Yelich from the 15-day IL after the outfielder/designated hitter missed a full month due to an adductor strain, immediately bolstering their lineup for the stretch run.
