Xreal One Pro+ AR Glasses: Brighter, More Comfortable

Xreal has released the One Pro+, an upgrade to its popular One Pro AR glasses. The refresh is modest, but it brings welcome quality-of-life improvements, starting with brightness. The One Pro+ reaches 1,200 nits of peak brightness, compared with 700 nits for the standard One Pro. It also adds AI HDR upscaling to improve visuals.

The company has also upgraded its 2D-to-3D conversion algorithm from 30Hz to 60Hz. The feature adds depth to 2D content, similar to the spatial imaging system found on the Apple Vision Pro. Xreal has also redesigned the nose pad to maximize long-term comfort. The company says the new pad improves stability without sacrificing field of view. That change may matter most in practice. Wearing AR glasses for 20 minutes is very different from spending two or three hours working in them, and these devices tend to become uncomfortable quickly.

Otherwise, the One Pro+ closely matches the original. It uses the same X1 spatial computing chip and offers the same 57-degree field of view. That is not a drawback, since the original One Pro was well liked. The glasses remain strong for productivity through screen mirroring, and for watching video. They also have one notable difference from Meta's glasses: no camera. That means people are unlikely to suspect the wearer of recording them.

The Xreal One Pro+ is available now for $600, the same price as last year's One Pro.
