### Apple tests four premium smart‑glass designs

**Apple** is evaluating at least four frame styles for its upcoming smart‑glasses venture, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports in the latest Power On newsletter. The company hopes premium design will set it apart from rivals such as Meta’s Ray‑Man glasses. Unlike full augmented‑reality headsets, the devices function as wearable spectacles with built‑in cameras, microphones and sensors.

The **four frame styles** range from a large rectangular Wayfarer‑inspired frame to a slimmer rectangle resembling the glasses Tim Cook often wears, plus two oval or circular options—one larger, one refined. Apple is testing finishes in black, ocean‑blue and light‑brown, and plans to craft the bodies from **acetate**, a durable, luxury‑grade plastic. Front‑facing lenses will host an oval array of cameras surrounded by indicator LEDs.

Functionally, the glasses will relay iPhone notifications, capture photos and video, play music and tap into upgraded Siri and visual‑intelligence features, essentially merging Apple Watch and AirPods capabilities. Gurman says Apple could unveil the product later this year or in early 2027, with a market launch slated for spring or summer 2027. The move signals Apple’s broader push toward AI‑centric wearables still.
