### Connor Hellebuyck Trade Request: Where Could He Land?

Winnipeg Jets star goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has publicly confirmed his trade request after months of speculation. The three-time Vezina Trophy winner, selected 130th overall in 2012, stated he wants to move on for the best path forward for himself and his family, while expressing gratitude for his time in Winnipeg. Over the last three seasons, Hellebuyck has totaled 73.4 goals saved above average, 20 more than Andrei Vasilevskiy, and backstopped Team USA to Olympic gold in 2026 with a .956 save percentage and iconic save in the final against Canada.

Despite a subpar 2025-26 season where he allowed 0.35 goals above average, his elite track record and Olympic performance sustain his value. His current contract has five years remaining at $8.5 million per season, and he holds a full no-movement clause, giving him control over any potential trade. Teams linked as possible suitors include the Buffalo Sabres, who are seen as an ascending team with cap space and a need to upgrade in net, potentially making them a favorite in the Atlantic Division if they acquire him.
