VAXEE, a peripherals company established in 2019 by the original founding team of Zowie, follows its NP-01S Ergo with the larger NP-01 Ergo Wireless. The mouse keeps the length of the NP-01S Ergo but is proportionally wider, and it weighs 58 g, slightly less than the 59 g NP-01S Ergo Wireless.
Internally, the NP-01 Ergo Wireless carries the same improvements found in the NP-01S V3 Wireless. At its center is the Core1 sensor, a customized Pix Art PAW3955 that allows CPI adjustment in increments of 1 and more granular lift-off distance adjustment. A new MCU with a USB high-speed PHY enables polling rates of up to 8000 Hz in wired operation. A revised wireless protocol called Core Link also brings 8000 Hz polling to wireless use, where previous VAXEE mice were limited to 4000 Hz. The receiver was fully redesigned for wireless stability and is now a fairly tall cylinder.
The receiver also houses buttons for on-device configuration, letting users cycle through CPI steps, polling rates and three custom profiles. More extensive settings are available through a web driver. Battery life varies with polling rate and sensor run mode, from 98 hours at the least draining settings to 24 hours at the most draining ones.
The NP-01 Ergo Wireless is available in pink, Galapagos Green, Lake Green, Deep Purple, Obsidian Black and white. It is priced at $149.99 and comes with a one-year warranty.
