Wacom Art Pen 2 Brings Rotation Sensitivity to New Generation

Wacom has unveiled the Art Pen 2, a rotation-sensitive stylus designed for digital artists seeking more expressive control in their creative workflows. Building on the legacy of the original Art Pen (KP701E), this new model brings 360° barrel rotation into Wacom's latest pen technology, allowing artists to vary line thickness and character by simply rotating the pen in their hand.

The pen features 8,192 levels of pressure sensitivity and uses Wacom's battery-free EMR technology. Three pen buttons help streamline workflow, while a built-in nib holder inside the barrel stores three spare tips for quick replacements. Artists can choose from three newly developed nib types—Carbon Shaft POM, standard POM, and Felt—each engineered to deliver a distinct drawing feel. Compatible software responds to pressure, tilt, and the pen's rotational angle for a natural drawing experience.

The Art Pen 2 works with the MovinkPad Pro 14, Intuos Pro (PTK470/PTK670/PTK870), Cintiq 16, and Cintiq 24, with Cintiq Pro support arriving later this year. Unlike the Wacom Pro Pen 3, this pen doesn't support interchangeable button plates, grips, or balance weights. The pen will be available soon.
