Resident Evil: Requiem Physical Sales High in Some Regions

Despite Sony's push towards digital game sales, physical media remains significant in certain markets. New statistics from Ampere, shared by Christopher Dring of The Game Business, reveal that Capcom's "Resident Evil: Requiem" saw substantial physical sales in several countries.

While the US registered only 22% physical sales, France led with 55%. Japan and Australia also showed strong physical adoption at 51% and 43%, respectively. The UK saw 40% of "Resident Evil: Requiem" sales in physical format.

These figures highlight the continued reliance on physical games in regions with less robust internet infrastructure. Even for a major title like "Resident Evil: Requiem," which has surpassed 6 million units sold, the 10% of sales that are physical represent a considerable market for a company of Capcom's scale.
