PUBG: Blindspot shutdown highlights game industry's sustainability crisis

PUBG: Blindspot will shut down on March 30, 2026, just months after its February launch, ARC Team announced. The free-to-play tactical shooter from the same studio behind the original PUBG failed to sustain itself despite a 72% positive Steam rating. Player numbers remain critically low, with only 236 concurrent players at its peak 24-hour mark and a lifetime high of 3,251.

The game is already delisted from Steam, and players will lose access. This closure follows similar shutdowns like Highguard and staff layoffs at Riot's 2XKO game, signaling a broader industry struggle to maintain financially viable titles beyond initial hype. ARC Team stated they couldn't deliver the promised experience through Early Access despite player feedback efforts.
