OpenMouse, the open-source, community-driven alternative mouse configuration suite, has expanded its support to include keyboard customization. The latest beta release adds compatibility with gaming keyboards from Logitech, Razer, SteelSeries, and Wooting, with initial support also in development for Wuque Studio and the Kochi Hummingbird 68.

While the implementation remains very much in beta, early testing shows mixed results. The app successfully connected to a Wooting 80HE but failed to load the proper keymap or adjust settings correctly. Despite these limitations, the planned feature set aims to compete with proprietary tools, offering HE features such as adjustable actuation, rapid trigger, toggle key, mod tap, SOCD, and DKS, alongside robust RGB customization and support for layers and profiles.

Notably absent is the ability to remap keys. OpenMouse also now allows users to install the Bridge app to create custom per-game profiles for compatible gaming mice, and the team plans to bring similar functionality to supported keyboards. The development team has invited gamers to participate in beta testing, though a timeline for exiting the beta phase has not been announced.
