The latest mVolt+ v0.36 update added power and voltage management features enabling bypass of stock power limits on NVIDIA RTX 50-series GPUs without shunt mod or vBIOS flashing. A Reddit user achieved 700 W total power draw on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090, scoring 16,523 points in 3DMark Steel Nomad—up 125 W from the stock 575 W TDP. The GPU reached 3,127 MHz, 720 MHz above the reference 2,407 MHz clock.

Another user reported overclocking an ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5080 OC to 680 W, up from the 400 W stock TDP (increasable to 450 W officially). No shunt mod was used, and the card hit 3,390 MHz in [ADDRESS] burn test, compared to 2,760 MHz stock boost.

These results raise concerns about the 12v-2×6 cable's safety at such high power levels, already struggling at stock settings.
