Lenovo's AI Workstations Bring On-Device Processing Power

Lenovo unveiled next-generation AI workstations designed for professionals, students, and developers tackling demanding workflows. The new ThinkPad P series and ThinkStation P5 Gen 2 form part of Lenovo's Hybrid AI Advantage solutions with NVIDIA, delivering unprecedented performance for AI development, CAD, BIM, and data science tasks without requiring cloud connectivity.

The lineup includes the lightweight ThinkPad P14s Gen 7, the 16-inch ThinkPad P16s Gen 5, and the premium ThinkPad P1 Gen 9 with up to 672 total TOPS. Desktop users get the ThinkStation P5 Gen 2 with dual NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell GPUs. Each model combines dedicated NPUs with next-gen Intel and AMD processors to accelerate AI tasks, shortening the time between input and results.

Lenovo also announced the world's first 1,000Wh/L Silicon-Anode Battery for notebooks and workstations, improving energy density by over 10% compared to previous generations. Developed with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, this technology offers up to 99.9Whr capacity without increasing size. The workstations will be available between April and June 2026, bringing on-device AI capabilities to professionals across industries.
