Crystal Dynamics unveiled two new Legacy of Kain titles during Sony's State of Play: Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered and Legacy of Kain: Ascendance. The remastered version modernizes the 2003 action-adventure game with HD visuals, refined camera controls, and bonus content including unreleased levels. Both titles feature original voice actors Simon Templeman and Michael Bell reprising their roles as Kain and Raziel.

Defiance Remastered launches March 3, 2026, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, with three editions ranging from $24.99 to $44.99. The Heart of Darkness Collection bundles both games plus exclusive skins. Ascendance, a 2D action platformer releasing March 31, 2026, introduces vertical movement mechanics and anime-inspired cinematics to the franchise.

The remastered edition offers players the choice between classic and modern presentation modes, plus a photo mode and lore reader. Ascendance features three playable protagonists including Kain, human Raziel, and new vampire Elaleth, with combat blending melee strikes, dashes, and supernatural attacks. Both games promise to expand the dark fantasy universe of Nosgoth with enhanced visuals and gameplay innovations.
