HPE NVIDIA AI Factory: Vera Rubin, Blackwell GPUs Expand Supercomputing

HPE has unveiled major upgrades to its NVIDIA AI Computing portfolio, targeting large-scale AI factories and supercomputers. The announcements include the HPE Cray Supercomputing GX240 Compute blade with up to 16 NVIDIA Vera CPUs, designed for demanding AI workloads, and enhanced networking options like NVIDIA Quantum-X800 InfiniBand. These innovations aim to accelerate time-to-insight for research labs and enterprises.

Key research institutions including Argonne National Laboratory and KISTI are adopting HPE's AI infrastructure for advanced scientific discovery. The company is also bolstering its HPE AI Factory portfolio with the NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform and Blackwell architecture. New offerings include the Vera Rubin NVL72 rack-scale system for frontier-scale models exceeding 1 trillion parameters and the HPE Compute XD700 server built on NVIDIA HGX Rubin NVL8.

These solutions are enhanced by software updates including NVIDIA Mission Control for workload orchestration and multi-tenancy support through NVIDIA MIG. HPE's AI factories are now NVIDIA Cloud Partner program-endorsed, streamlining validation for cloud service providers. With decades of experience in building energy-efficient supercomputers, HPE continues to push boundaries in AI and HPC convergence, enabling faster scientific breakthroughs across medicine, engineering, and manufacturing.
