GIGABYTE launched two new Z890 motherboards designed for Intel's upcoming Core Ultra processors. The Z890 AORUS Elite WiFi7 Plus and Z890 Eagle WiFi7 Plus arrive alongside Intel's new Core Ultra 5 250K Plus and Core Ultra 7 270K Plus 'Arrow Lake-S' chips launching later this month. Both boards feature out-of-the-box support for the new processors.

A notable cost-cutting measure sees both boards omit the typical pair of Thunderbolt 4 ports found on Z890 motherboards. Instead, GIGABYTE wired out a single 40 Gbps USB4 port. The AORUS Elite WiFi7 Plus offers a 16+1+2 phase CPU VRM with 60 A DrMOS, while the Eagle WiFi7 Plus provides a 14+1+2 phase VRM. Both include GIGABYTE's Ultra Turbo Mode for automated frequency and voltage boosting.

The AORUS Elite WiFi7 Plus delivers 5 GbE wired LAN using a Realtek controller, while the Eagle WiFi7 Plus offers 2.5 GbE from Realtek. Both feature Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 using Intel WLAN modules, with the AORUS Elite WiFi7 Plus supporting 320 MHz Intel BE200NGW and the Eagle WiFi7 Plus offering 160 MHz Intel BE202. Both boards include Realtek ALC1220 HDA codec audio and convenient SMD buttons on rear I/O shields.
