Blaze Entertainment unveils the Evercade Nexus, a significant upgrade to its retro gaming handheld line. The Nexus features a massive 5.89-inch screen, the largest ever on an Evercade device, delivering vibrant visuals at over 500 nits of brightness. Central to the console is its commitment to physical cartridges, offering best-in-class emulation for games spanning five decades, all playable via tangible media. This new model incorporates feedback from the community, introducing dual analogue sticks for a more immersive 64 and 32-bit gaming experience, alongside a sleek black design with customizable RGB lighting.

Priced at $199.99, the Nexus includes the exclusive Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack cartridge and a USB-C charging cable. It boasts over 5 hours of battery life, wireless headphone support, and a textured rear grip for comfort. A standout feature is EverSync, enabling local multiplayer by wirelessly sharing a game cartridge between two Nexus consoles without Wi-Fi or internet. The console also supports vertical TATE mode, a custom UI, and wireless updates. Pre-orders commence on April 1st, with a US release scheduled for October 2026.

The launch reinforces Evercade's unique position in the retro gaming market, prioritizing physical ownership and nostalgia. CEO Andrew Byatt emphasizes the Nexus as the culmination of six years of listening to fans, delivering features like local multiplayer that enhance the core experience. This marks a major step in bringing the tactile joy of classic gaming into the modern era.
