Doug Bowser, who retired last month as President of Nintendo of America, has joined the Hasbro Board of Directors. The toy and entertainment giant, which owns Dungeons & Dragons via its Wizards of the Coast subsidiary, announced the move alongside Carla Vernón. Hasbro's chairman cited their experience in consumer brands and franchise management as valuable for its growth strategy.

Bowser's background includes a decade at Nintendo's Seattle headquarters and prior roles at Electronic Arts. This hire fuels speculation about Baldur's Gate 3 potentially coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. Fans note Larian Studios previously ported Divinity: Original Sin II to the original Switch, though BG3's technical demands are significantly higher, similar to its challenging Xbox Series S port.

Hasbro is already expanding its D&D gaming portfolio, recently partnering with Giant Skull studio for a new action-adventure title. With Bowser's video game industry expertise now on the board, the company may seek more development partnerships. The gaming community is watching closely to see if his influence could help bridge the gap between Larian's acclaimed RPG and Nintendo's hybrid platform.
