Arkade claims its new Gaming Gun offers a more intuitive way to play FPS titles than traditional mice, which the company dismisses as "pro office equipment." The wireless controller connects via 2.4 GHz, lasts 8+ hours per charge, and supports magnetic recharging. Pre-orders open at $299, rising to $399 at launch, with production and shipping slated for 2027.
The device uses a proprietary positioning system calibrated to the player's seating position and display size, rather than lasers or external tracking stations. Arkade says it has tested the gun across over 200 FPS games, including Call of Duty, Valorant, CS2, Apex Legends, and Overwatch 2, and touts "universal game compatibility" via a standard HID driver and web-based calibration tool. Supported platforms include Windows, macOS, and SteamOS.
The gun features two customizable buttons on the barrel and rear, plus a joystick on the left side to handle movement, jumping, reloading, and other actions normally mapped to a keyboard or controller. Arkade's in-house testing claims performance metrics rival high-end gaming mice, though independent verification is pending.
