According to the latest Steam Hardware and Software Survey, AMD's Radeon RX 9070 XT became the company's most popular discrete graphics card in August with a 1.46% share among surveyed gamers, ranking 24th overall. The card grew from an immeasurable share in April to 1.33% in May, 1.35% in June, 1.40% in July, and 1.46% in August, placing it just above NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 3080 and below the GTX 1660 SUPER.

NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 50-Series "Blackwell" generation shows stronger presence, with the RTX 5070 at 3.77%, RTX 5060 at 3.16%, and RTX 5060 Ti at 2.55%. Even the high-end RTX 5080 holds 1.71%. AMD's second-best RDNA 4 discrete GPU is the Radeon RX 9060 XT at 0.80%.

Jon Peddie Research data shows AMD holds about 21% of the total PC GPU market share, largely due to integrated graphics, with a 0.6% quarter-over-quarter increase. While Steam Survey data differs from market research like JPR, it provides a useful picture of current GPU adoption.
