AMD FSR SDK 2.3 Boosts Ray Regeneration and RDNA 3 Upscaling

AMD rolled out FSR SDK 2.3, the first update since March’s 2.2 release. The headline change is Ray Regeneration 1.2, which adds quality tweaks and optional ambient and specular denoising. By separating denoising from upscaling, the new version promises noticeably cleaner ray‑traced visuals on Radeon GPUs.

The SDK also ships FSR 4.1.1 for the Radeon RX 7000 series built on RDNA 3. Alongside a minor bump to Frame Generation 4.0.1, the package introduces software‑based frame‑pacing to compensate for the lack of hardware flip metering. AMD bundles the update with Adrenalin Edition 26.6.2, instantly unlocking FSR 4.1 in more than 300 titles.

For gamers, the roll‑out means higher frame rates and sharper ray‑traced scenes without waiting for a new driver cycle. Developers gain a ready‑to‑use denoising stack that can be swapped into existing pipelines. AMD’s incremental SDK push keeps its upscaling suite competitive against rival solutions and reinforces RDNA 3’s performance edge.
