AMD's upcoming FSR 4.1 update has reportedly leaked through early access to the Radeon Software "Vanguard" testing program. The new Radeon FSR 4.1 DLL file shows minor visual improvements over the current FSR 4.0.3 version, with Reddit users reporting small gains in detail and edge definition when forcing the update on supported titles.

Some enthusiasts have attempted to run the leaked DLL on RDNA 3 hardware, despite AMD not officially supporting FSR 4 on that generation due to missing instructions in the older microarchitecture. While the leaked file carries a digital signature, running unofficial binaries carries risks including potential instability and conflicts with future driver updates.

Early testers describe sharper foliage and fabric textures with less ghosting in side-by-side comparisons, though results vary significantly by game and system configuration. Some users report inconsistent results and artifacts, suggesting the update remains experimental. The update was found in beta testing of the recently released AMD Software Adrenalin 26.2.2 WHQL drivers, but may not arrive until a future driver update.
