Acer introduced its first education-focused Chromebooks powered by the new MediaTek Kompanio 540 processor. The Chromebook Spin 311 (convertible) and Chromebook 311 (clamshell) feature 11.6-inch HD displays, up to 15 hours of battery life, and fanless designs. Both models are built for K-12 classroom durability, meeting MIL-STD 810H standards with spill-resistant keyboards and drop protection.

These devices aim to reduce total cost of ownership for school districts through modular, repairable designs. Key features include a Quick Insert key for tools, optional antimicrobial glass, and Wi-Fi 7/Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. They support Chrome Education Upgrade for zero-touch enrollment, helping IT departments manage fleets efficiently while providing students access to STEM and creative applications.

Acer's announcement targets the competitive education market, where Chromebooks dominate. The Kompanio 540 processor promises smooth performance for everyday tasks and educational software. The Spin 311 offers a 360-degree hinge for tablet mode, while the 311 provides a compact clamshell. Both models will be available in North America starting March 2026, with an estimated starting price of $499.99.
