Blizzard has released a surprise expansion for Diablo II Resurrected, adding the new Warlock class and substantial end-game content 25 years after the last major update. The "Reign of the Warlock" DLC introduces a dark magic-wielding class with three distinct skill paths: Demonic summoning, Eldritch hexes, and Chaos attacks.

This update marks the first major content drop since 2001's "Lord of Destruction" expansion, bringing fresh gameplay to the beloved ARPG. The Warlock class will also appear in Diablo IV on April 28 and Diablo Immortal in June, though existing Resurrected owners can access it now for $25 or through the $40 "Infernal Edition" on Steam.

The expansion includes quality-of-life improvements like a new loot filter and stackable stash items, plus challenging new content such as Terror Zones, Colossal Ancient bosses, and Heralds of Terror for high-level players. These additions breathe new life into a game that continues to receive patches and updates, demonstrating Blizzard's ongoing commitment to its classic titles.
