Player Movement & Injury Updates
The Capitals secured a prospect as Cole Hutson signed a three-year entry-level contract immediately following the conclusion of his sophomore season at Boston University, which ended Saturday in the Hockey East tournament, suggesting an immediate infusion of talent for Washington's playoff push. Separately, the Canadiens suffered a setback when forward Kirby Dach was forced from Sunday night's contest against the Anaheim Ducks due to an upper-body injury sustained after absorbing a high hit from Ducks winger Jeffrey Viel.
