NFL Draft Strategy & Roster Construction

As the NFL Draft approaches, teams are solidifying their strategic positions, with the 49ers prioritizing youth at receiver despite already securing two veteran free agents this offseason. This focus on adding young pass-catching talent contrasts with the immediate trade calculus facing other contenders; analysts advise teams like the Cowboys and Lions to explore moving down the board, suggesting potential value maximization outside the top tier. Meanwhile, Lions GM Brad Holmes has consistently demonstrated a readiness to either aggressively trade up or back in the first round, moves that have historically yielded positive returns for the Detroit franchise.
