Defensive Personnel Departures
The league witnessed a significant wave of retirements Thursday as veteran defensive standouts opted to hang up their cleats. Two-time All-Pro cornerback Stephon Gilmore announced his departure after a decorated career, which included earning the 2019 Defensive Player of the Year award. Concurrently, linebacker Anthony Walker Jr. also confirmed his exit, issuing a brief "Thank you football" statement on social media after concluding his playing days on Thursday.
