AL NL East Injury Updates
The New York Mets' already trying season took another downturn as catcher Francisco Alvarez was sidelined Wednesday with a meniscus tear in his right knee, immediately landing him on the injured list. This latest setback compounds pitching woes for the struggling club, which saw Yankees ace Max Fried exit his start against the Orioles after only three innings due to soreness developing in his pitching elbow, prompting immediate diagnostic testing.
