Whyte warns Joshua return too soon

Dillian Whyte believes Anthony Joshua should face Deontay Wilder next, calling it the fight that "makes sense" and predicting Joshua would knock him out. Whyte downplayed his own rematch prospects while suggesting the Wilder matchup would generate significant sales despite Joshua's expected bout with Tyson Fury later this year.

Whyte expressed concern that Joshua is returning to boxing too soon following a car accident in Nigeria that resulted in the deaths of two close friends. The former heavyweight champion, who last fought in December 2023 when he defeated YouTuber Jake Paul, needs more time to process the "heavy loss," according to Whyte, who was stopped by Joshua in 2015.

Despite suffering a first-round knockout defeat to Moses Itauma in August 2022, Whyte has fought just three times since 2022 yet denies retirement rumors. "I know I can still operate at the top level," Whyte stated, acknowledging his Saudi Arabia performance wasn't representative of his capabilities while remaining focused on future opportunities in the heavyweight division.
