Aaron Pressley's second-half goal secured a 1-0 Carabao Cup victory for League Two side Walsall over Championship club Bristol City at Ashton Gate. The decisive moment came in the 47th minute when Reece Smith delivered a cross from the left, allowing Pressley to score from eight yards.

Despite intense pressure from Bristol City in the final stages, including numerous corners, Walsall's defense held firm to secure their place in the second round. The match saw a significant number of debutants, with Bristol City fielding five and Walsall seven.
