Wales vs Ireland Six Nations: Edwards, Timoney in starting lineups

Wales have made three changes for Friday's Six Nations clash with Ireland in Dublin as they seek to end a 14-game losing streak. Cardiff fly-half Dan Edwards returns to the starting XV after Sam Costelow's injury, while James Botham makes his first start of the tournament at blindside flanker. Ellis Mee comes in on the wing for Gabriel Hamer-Webb.

Head coach Steve Tandy said the changes were partly enforced by injuries, but praised Ellis Mee's performances in earlier rounds. Wales will be desperate to break their Dublin drought, having not beaten Ireland since 2015. Tandy emphasized the need to build on their improved defense against Scotland, particularly against Ireland's possession-based game.

Ireland's Andy Farrell has named Nick Timoney for his first Six Nations start at openside flanker, replacing Josh van der Flier. The 30-year-old Ulster back-rower impressed in cameo appearances against France, Italy, and England. Uncapped Nathan Doak could make his debut from the bench, while Jamison Gibson-Park will earn his 50th Test cap.
