A contentious penalty decision in Tottenham's match has been overturned by VAR, with experts agreeing the original call was incorrect. Spurs were initially awarded a spot-kick following Luke O'Nien's challenge on Omar Alderete, but the decision was changed after video review.

Dermot explained that VAR saved the officials from a significant error. "Alderete gets the ball. O'Nien gets the ball. Kolo Muani slips and is already going down," he said. "The referee quite rightly overturns it."

Former player Jay Bothroyd supported the reversal but noted O'Nien escaped what could have been a harsher outcome. "I didn't think it was a penalty and still don't but O'Nien is lucky. If the attacker was on his feet and O'Nien slides into him, then I'd think it was a penalty."
