Vanessa Gold has confirmed she has agreed to sell her stake in West Ham United to a consortium led by former Newcastle co-owner Amanda Staveley. The deal covers the Gold family's 25.1 per cent holding and includes Staveley, her husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi, and PCP Capital Partners.

Gold, who succeeded her father David as joint-chair following his death in 2023, stated the agreement remains subject to a pre-emption process. This allows existing shareholders the option to buy the shares instead. The consortium aims to work with current shareholders to ensure a bright future for the club.

Gold expressed confidence in the new leadership, noting that Staveley and her partners bring deep experience in leading successful football clubs. While the sale process proceeds, Gold will continue to act in the club's best interests to ensure West Ham achieves its potential and returns to its rightful place in the Premier League.
