Birmingham Phoenix avoided the wooden spoon in The Hundred women's competition as Ellyse Perry's composed half-century condemned MI London to a sixth defeat. Perry struck 62no from 39 balls, sharing a fifth-wicket stand of 66 with Pakistan skipper Fatima Sana (36) to chase down 122 with six balls to spare.

Phoenix were wobbling at 48-4 after early wickets from Kirstie Gordon (2-20), but Perry and Sana rebuilt. Sana fell to Nicola Carey with just seven runs required, but Perry sealed the win. Earlier, MI London posted 120-6, with Chinelle Henry top-scoring on 42 off 33.

Perry said: "It's nice to finish on a high. I thought we bowled especially well. We've given it absolutely everything, it just hasn't come off for the most part." The win lifts Phoenix to seventh in the table, while MI London end a chastening campaign with just one victory.
