Fernandes, who joined for £85m, opened the scoring just three minutes into his debut. He partnered £100m signing Sandro Tonali in midfield, with both players impressing before being substituted at halftime. Goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, a free transfer, also made a strong impression after coming on at the break.
