Spittal Winner Sends Hearts Three Points Clear

Blair Spittal came off the bench to score an 86th-minute winner as Hearts beat nine-man Hibernian 2-1 in a dramatic Edinburgh derby. The substitute curled home from inside the box to seal a comeback victory that moves the league leaders three points clear of Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Hibernian took a 7th-minute lead through Martin Boyle, but their ill-discipline proved costly. Goalkeeper Raphael Sallinger was sent off for handling outside his area, and defender Felix Passlack received a second yellow after a high challenge. Despite being reduced to nine men, Hibs held firm until Lawrence Shankland's equaliser - via Warren O'Hora's own goal - and Spittal's late winner.

The result gives Hearts a four-point cushion over third-placed Rangers, who lost to Motherwell earlier that day. Captain Lawrence Shankland told Sky Sports: "We've worked so hard to get to this position." Hearts face Rangers next weekend in a potential title-decider, live on Sky Sports. Hibs, now fifth, will hope the Glasgow clubs can stop Hearts from clinching the trophy.
