Southwell's jumps action kicks off Monday afternoon, featuring the Grace And Dotty Fedora's Handicap Chase. Smurfette (Tom Ellis) aims for a third win after consistent form since switching stables, while Solar System (Philip Hobbs/Johnson White) targets a breakthrough after a strong Haydock performance. The field includes Heltenham's Jasmin De Grugy and Fergal O'Brien's Lilting Verse.
Wolverhampton's all-weather racing highlights Francesca, second in the Horse of the Year leaderboard, competing in the Always Gamble Responsibly Handicap. Jockey Robert Havlin's experience with Serious Look and Thomas Faulkner's six-year-old (50% strike rate with him) could influence outcomes. He's A Gentleman (Hugo Palmer) and Criminal Shore (David O'Meara) also feature in the eight-runner field.
Bint Havana Gold seeks a repeat of last Monday's sprint victory in the Golden Goals Fillies' Handicap, carrying the same weight as her recent win. Hollie Doyle rides Insuspense (Oliver Cole) targeting a maiden victory, while James Fanshawe's So Sassy and White Umbrella (three-time course winner) face stiff competition. The £250,000 prize adds stakes for top fillies.
Francesca's Horse of the Year bid intersects with Wolverhampton's all-weather dominance, as owners and trainers strategize for season-ending accolades. The fillies' handicap's extended mile distance tests versatility, while Southwell's chase specialists aim to capitalize on course familiarity. Results could reshape betting markets ahead of major November fixtures.
