Claressa Shields stopped Kaye Scott in the sixth round to reclaim the WBC and WBA middleweight belts in Atlanta. She moved down from heavyweight to middleweight, becoming a world champion for the third time. The fight was under Shields' control throughout, with the crucial moments coming in the sixth round when the 42-year-old Scott was dropped before a barrage of punches against the ropes.

The onslaught forced Scott's corner to toss towels into the ring, ending the contest after 1 minute 38 seconds of the sixth round. With the victory, Shields moves to 19-0, cementing her claim as the self‑proclaimed GWOAT and positioning her above Katie Taylor as the world’s No 1 female fighter.

“It was a hard camp,” Shields said. “I cut 38 pounds, dropping from 198 to 160 over 14 weeks. It was the most disciplined I’ve been since the Olympics.”

Shields now targets a bout with Lauren Price at 160lbs, hoping for a fight between December and January. Her promoter Dmitriy Salita says the mega event belongs in the United States, but the UK remains an option.
