Manchester United endured another turbulent week, including a disappointing defeat in Como that worsened their poor season start.
Amid growing pressure on manager Michael Carrick, senior players have openly questioned tactics, with captain Bruno Fernandes following Lisandro Martinez's critical post-match interview. Carrick responded with an emotional five-minute monologue at his Friday press conference, delivering messages of humility to the dressing room.
Speaking to goalkeeper Senne Lammens, the question of squad unity arose. "For me personally, I think it is," Lammens said. He acknowledged frustration after games but insisted players remain together behind Carrick, the staff, and the front office. "We're all doing everything we can and we're all together behind the coach."
Despite these assurances, United's performances tell a different story. They conceded within minutes against Como, repeating the pattern seen against Atletico Madrid, Fulham, and Spurs. The club has kept just one clean sheet all season, against Sabah on September 10 in the Champions League.
Lammens admitted, "It's difficult. We have to learn from that as well..."
