Salah Injury Update: Liverpool Star Set for Pre-Season Return

Mohamed Salah is expected to return for Liverpool before the end of the season after suffering a minor muscle injury during Saturday's 3-1 win over Crystal Palace. The Egyptian forward was substituted just before the hour mark, clutching his leg, and appeared emotional as he left the Anfield pitch, taking time to applaud the supporters.

The timing of the injury adds extra significance. Salah announced last month he had agreed to end his nine-year stay at Liverpool, with the final-day game against Brentford at Anfield appearing to be the perfect occasion for his farewell. The club stated he will return to action ahead of the 2025-26 season's conclusion and his departure this summer.

Captain Virgil van Dijk believes Salah will still get the send-off he deserves. "I know he is doing everything in his power to be back on the pitch as soon as possible," Van Dijk said. "He will get the send-off regardless. Knowing Mo, he is a quick healer." Liverpool have four Premier League games remaining, starting with the trip to Manchester United on May 3.
