Joe Root and Dom Bess each claimed four wickets as Yorkshire pulled off a remarkable 75-run comeback victory over Somerset in Taunton. The England Test captain's spell of 4-49 proved decisive, helping bowl Somerset out for 184 shortly after tea on the final day to seal their first victory of the season.

Yorkshire had been in trouble after being bowled out for just 162 on the opening day, with Somerset establishing a 112-run first-innings lead. The visitors recovered to post 371 in their second innings, setting Somerset a target of 260. Dom Bess supported with 4-60 as the visitors completed a superb fightback.

Elsewhere in Division One, reigning champions Nottinghamshire moved to the top of the table after thrashing Leicestershire by 10 wickets at Grace Road. Glamorgan celebrated their first top-flight County Championship win in 21 years, beating Hampshire by an innings and 68 runs in Southampton.

In Division Two, Kent ended a winless streak spanning over a year, defeating Derbyshire by 225 runs at Canterbury. Matt Milnes recorded career-best figures of 6-12 as Kent blew the visitors away for just 158 in their second innings.
