French Open officials announced that Lacoste advertising boards would be repositioned after multiple players slipped on the courts.

Zeynep Sönmez, 24, tripped over a board at Roland‑Garros, leaving the court with stitches but no serious injury. Katie Boulter also fell, prompting her to tweet that the boards must be removed.

Iga Swiatek echoed the players’ concerns, noting that the high‑spin clay court demands more clearance. The FFT said it had already modernised the venue and is now making “adjustments to the area around the playing surface.”

The changes aim to uphold player safety without compromising the tournament’s sponsorship visibility. The French Open will proceed with the new layout for the remainder of the event.
