Red Bull has unveiled a blue throwback livery for the 2026 Formula 1 season, marking their return to a design last seen at their 2005 debut. The RB22 will be driven by Max Verstappen and rookie Isack Hadjar as the team enters a new technical era.

The launch event in Detroit celebrated Red Bull’s shift to in-house engine manufacturing with Ford, ending years of reliance on external suppliers. Team principal Laurent Mekies warned expectations will be lower at season start, citing steep learning curves for both chassis and power unit development.

Verstappen, fresh off a strong finish to 2025, hopes for rapid progress. The 2026 car also marks the first without input from legendary designer Adrian Newey, or former leaders Christian Horner and Helmut Marko. Their absence adds uncertainty as Red Bull rebuilds its technical and leadership core.

Pre-season testing begins in late January, with three scheduled events ahead of the March 6 opener in Australia. All races will air live on Sky Sports F1, including the RB22’s debut in Melbourne.
