Emma Raducanu suffered a 52-minute drubbing at Indian Wells, losing 6-1 6-1 to Amanda Anisimova in the third round. The 2021 US Open champion managed only 21 points against her opponent's 53 and hit just two winners, highlighting the significant gap between her and the world's elite players.

Raducanu acknowledged she has "a long way to go" to compete with top players, noting the power differential. "When I'm playing someone who's at the top like that, I think they have an extra 10 miles an hour on their serve than me," the British No 1 explained. She also admitted her punches weren't landing as effectively against Anisimova.

The 23-year-old, who defeated Anastasia Zakharova 6-1 6-3 in her first match, is now working with Mark Petchey temporarily following her split from coach Francisco Roig in January. Raducanu will return to action at the Miami Open later this month, another WTA 1000 event, while continuing to seek improvement against top-tier competition.
