Lando Norris stated it would be "a good thing" if Max Verstappen considered moving from Red Bull to McLaren. Speculation about Verstappen's future intensified as his representatives reportedly met with McLaren. Although contracted until 2028, Verstappen is understood to possess an exit clause, potentially allowing a move after this season.

Norris dismissed concerns that such a move would threaten current McLaren drivers, emphasizing that many drivers want to join the team. He sees the prospect of partnering with a four-time champion as an exciting opportunity for his own development, though he reiterated his current focus remains with Oscar Piastri.

Verstappen, meanwhile, offered a cryptic response when asked about McLaren meetings, stating, "That's what you say." He insists his sole focus is on his racing and maintaining momentum with Red Bull, particularly after a strong second-place finish in Austria. Piastri also expressed confidence in his position at McLaren.

Norris has previously welcomed the chance to compete alongside or against top drivers like Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, and Fernando Alonso. He believes facing such talent would be a beneficial experience for him as he continues his career with McLaren, suggesting a willingness to embrace future teammate changes.
